Description: In situ hybridization was used to localize the DCXR gene expression pattern at the histological level. In agreement with the PCR results, antisense DCXR cRNA hybridization increases from the caput to the cauda epididymidis, with expression being in the majority, located to the epithelial cells. Some faint staining can be found in some blood vessels endothelial cells (S1 Fig.). The mRNA is uniformly located in the cytoplasm of caput epithelial cells (Fig. 3A).
