| Description: The localization patterns of dazl mRNA, a germ plasm component initially localized to the vegetal pole of the egg ([36,46,47]; Figure 8A), is not affected in these mutants (Figure 8D). During the first two cell cycles, dazl mRNA localizes normally to the furrows in hec mutants (Figure 8B, 8E), as does vasa mRNA (Figure 8C, 8F), an animal germ plasm component already present in the animal cortical region during egg activation. | |||
