Our results showed that miR-29a specifically enhanced association of HIV-1 mRNA with endogenous P-body proteins, and the HA-immunopurified complexes showed no interaction between HIV-1 mRNA and miR-29a (Figure S1). Altogether, these results indicate that miR-29a specifically targets HIV-1 mRNA and enhances its association with ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes containing RISC proteins.
