| Detail Description: | In contrast to SRA, GAS5 functions as a "riborepressor": the ncRNA interacts with the DNA binding domain of the glucocorticoid receptors, thus competing with the glucocorticoid response elements in the genome for binding to these receptors. This suppresses the induction of several responsive genes including cellular inhibitor of apoptosis 2 (cIAP2) and ultimately sensitizes cells to apoptosis |
